Today the first two episodes of the new Disney plus series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi were published. The spin-off plays ten years after episodes 1 to 3. While these films are repeatedly criticized by fans, the positive voices have been louder lately. In addition to Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker) also returns to the franchise after more than 10 years. In an interview, Christensen unpacked how he stands in the sequels.
how does Hayden Christiansen think about the sequels?
In an interview with Kakuchopurei, the actor Hayden Christensen shared what he thinks about the sequels, i.e. episodes 7 to 9."I really liked the sequel trilogy" , he admitted."I thought the way they honored the [old] characters. Somehow I liked all their ideas and it was nice to be a fan again and to follow these stories like everyone else" , he continues his answer.
With all the praise, however, it must be mentioned that the journey around the young Rey consisting of "the awakening of power", "The Last Jedi" and "The rise of the skywalker" triggered mixed feelings with the fans. The last part from 2019 in particular was repeatedly criticized for its sometimes arbitrary plot.
When does Star Wars play: Obi-Wan Kenobi?
The new spin-off takes place ten years after Episode 3, Star Wars: the revenge of the Sith, and plays nine years before the fourth part. It was already clear in advance that The Inquisitors would play an important role. It is their task to switch off all Jedi who survived the Order 66. Among their ranks there are also ex-members of the Jedi Order.
In addition, Obi-Wan's former student, Anakin Skywalker alias Darth Vader, will celebrate his return in the latest spin-off. After the first two episodes of the series appear exclusively on Disney plus today, the remaining four episodes will appear every Wednesday at the streaming provider.
